Based in Guwahati, Sahayika is a pioneering institution in the North East that strives towards the academic and socio-emotional development of children with special needs. For young minds faced with challenges such as Autism, Hearing and Speech Impairment, Mental Challenges, ADHD and more, our organization works tirelessly to prepare them for the mainstream society.

Sahayika was founded by Mrs. Kalpana Bezboruah – a leading child psychologist and social worker. Pillared on her work and experience of three decades in the field, we aim to provide a learning and developmental experience that does justice to children with special needs.

Children with cognitive/academic/ behavioral problems often face difficulty in performing routine household activities, self-help skills, in developing speech & language, in learning to read and write and in socializing with peers and others. With a team of highly qualified and trained psychologists, special educators, speech & language therapists and other therapists, Sahayika is constantly evolving and using evidence based practices to deliver high quality therapeutic interventions for children. The clients receiving these therapies can be broadly classified into-Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Impairment, Downe’s syndrome, Hearing impaired, ADHD, Multiple Disability.

As a commitment to the society, Sahayika also provides free services to the differently abled children from the economically backward section, with a strong belief and philosophy that every child has the right to be treated with dignity, respect and must have access to high quality education.
